in this tutorial, you'll learn:
- Guide how to make effective map
- How to shape a map with boundaries
- How to make a good forest transition
- How to place object effectively
Some of them are :
- Do not make the perfect box-shaped map. why? because the square map was boring . even if the RPG maker XP only provides a template box, it will not stop an experienced mapper to give depth maps according to their creations.
- Create a map with a lot of empty space is left will make the map feel lonely and boring (of course exceptions to the desert or grassland, but, this time we talk about forest)
- Symmetrical map was not good. it will probably look more presentable. however, if you ever see the forest for the trees are symmetrical to each other?
- Boundary. Boundary is necessary to limit the players who will move out of bounds. Just imagine if there was a map that makes the player stops instantly. there is no such thing in this world, right?
Part 1: Making a Normal Forest
For the beginning, we will try to make a map like this:
Ok! 1st step, make a land.
Keep sure to make it in the 1st layer.
See that the map i made is not a perfect square. and this time, don't forget the boundary. next step, a tree. in the 2nd layer
Next! decorations!
Wow! the tree was cut because of the decorations! how? patch it in 3rd layer
